Programme Manager – Training & Operations in Advanced Packaging
Contract: Full Time/Fixed Term
The Photonics Packaging Group at Tyndall National Institute invites applications for a Programme Manager – Training & Operations in Advanced Packaging. This role will support the coordination and delivery of a broad portfolio of research and industry projects, including a major pilot line, and will enable efficient team operations and technical training across the group. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Group and leadership team to manage internal operations, coordinate onboarding and researcher support, oversee short-course training delivery, and liaise with partners to enable access to the group’s infrastructure. The role will also support the development and refinement of internal processes, tools, and communications that enable the group to operate efficiently across a growing number of projects and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Appointment may be made on the Admin II (Grade 6A) Scale B € 71,331- € 90,355 p.a. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with the public sector pay policy.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive the setup, coordination and roll-out of training for the PIXEurope Pilot Line, working directly with the PIXEurope training partners.
- Provide strategic leadership and manage the development of new advanced packaging training courses at Tyndall in partnership with Tyndall research partners.
- Act as main contact point for training within the packaging group for internal and external partners.
- Manage and develop relationships with European and international stakeholders within the training sector relevant to the group’s research/projects.
- Facilitate the management of packaging projects and operations, working closely with the packaging technology management team, tasks including but not limited to managing researcher workload and resource tracking across projects.
- Develop and maintain internal documentation, communications, and reporting processes.
- Contribute to promoting group activities, including website content and training visibility.
- Develop and improve internal operational tools and systems to support group scaling.
- Ensure compliance with organisational Quality Management Systems, Health and Safety standards, and other regulations.
- Additional duties as may be reasonably required within the scope and level of the post.
- Degree in physical sciences or engineering, or a degree in another discipline with more than 5 years of experience working in these fields.
- Typically, with 10 or more years of experience working in a university or research centre setting.
- Significant experience in developing, implementing and/or reporting on training courses in a scientific/technical discipline.
- Significant experience in programme and/or project management.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects nationally and internationally.
- Experience preparing proposals and reports for national and international funders.
- Proven ability to collaborate within a team and take on operational leadership roles.
- Evidence of entrepreneurial experience and creative skills/creativity
- Professional qualification in project management.
- Experience working on large-scale research projects.
- Experience reporting to public scientific/technical bodies such as national or European funding agencies.
- Familiarity with research infrastructure operations.
- Experience encouraging and promoting technical communications and reporting.
- Ability to develop and improve operational/management systems and tools.
- Experience in an electronics or semiconductor-related environment
